Keys to C.O.N.N.EC.T. | Time

Wow- can you believe that Thanksgiving is already next week? Usually when this time of year hits it’s straight crazy for our family. We have two birthdays to celebrate at Thanksgiving time, which this year my baby is turning 3- insert all the emotions! Then we have 2 more birthdays to celebrate with Christmas in the middle. Not only that, but we host Thanksgiving as well as several Christmas gatherings here every year. As you can see I need to be really intentional about connecting during this time because with all that is going on it is easy to become disconnected. Just because you are with someone, it doesn’t necessarily mean you are connecting, and we have learned that lesson well over the years!

Time

The last key in this Keys to C.O.N.N.E.C.T. series is Time. There are no short cuts in building strong relationships. The more time you invest in your family and your relationships, the more you are going to get out of them. Happy families absolutely do not happen over night. Take the time to learn the love languages of your spouse and kids. Take the time to learn new things together. It takes time to build solid foundations for lasting relationships.

You don’t want to just survive. Put the time in so that you thrive as a family. Put the time in to connect with your kids and build a foundation of trust that will continue on into their teen years and even into adulthood.

Time is one of your most precious resources and who better to spend it on than the people you love?

I hope you have been enjoying this Keys to C.O.N.N.E.C.T. series are are feeling empowered to build rich connections this holiday season. If you’ve been following along I would love to hear from you! What is one thing that especially spoke to you or one new thing you’re going to try to implement in your family?
